This collection includes deeds, business correspondence, receipts, letters, maps, legal papers, primarily from the 1800s to the 1920s documenting the Estell family's land holdings and business dealings. The Estells were instrumental in the formation of Atlantic County out of parts of Gloucester County in 1837. (The collection does not contain materials from Rebecca Estell Bourgeois Winston or her time as the first female mayor of New Jersey in 1925.)
